Last night I was out on rise fields found very close to Thessaloniki city trying to make an image with the full moon rising. Conditions were optimal and the haze made the red color pop on the Moon's disc, but millions of mosquitos were coming in clouds and I had to be full body protected except my face and fingers...

Abell 39 is a faint planetary nebula in constellation of Herkules - it is 6800 Lj. far away.
I invested 24 hours of exposuretime with narrowband and RGB Filters.

Last night (July 5 after midnight) thanks to a mild solar wind stream buffeting the Earth's magnetic field, the Northern Lights were visible at Bon Echo Provincial Park, in Ontario. Far from any city lights, the aurora shone through despite the best efforts of the moon to spoil the view. Reflecting in the still water of Upper Mazinaw Lake the aurora were active most of the night, but this is about as bright as they got around 1:00am. This is a composite panorama of 5 images panning from north (left) to south. Each frame was a 2 second exposure at 2500 iso, 14mm F/2.8
cheers,

In the constellation of Cygnus one can find NGC 6914. In this region emission nebulae, as well as absorption and reflection nebulae can be found. In the beginning of June I photographed this region, just like Tim Schuurman (a fellow astrophotographer). We shared our data and then I worked on this, but all still in low resolution.
Now I reprocessed the data using the Drizzle option in pixinsight, blowing up the original to twice its size and then in the end reducing it back to the original size, while obtaining more fine detail.
Furthermore also Digitized Sky Survey was incorporated in the image to get more detail in the dark nebulae. Altogether I think it resulted in a nice image of this interesting region.
NGC 6914 Emission and reflection - DSS data included on Flickr
On the image also two interesting objects can be seen (see detail image):
To the right we see V1515 Cyg, that's a star surrounded by a disk of gas/dust that can be well seen in the image. To the left we see the protoplanetary nebula GN 20.22.7

Not far to Jupiter & Venus upper left, appearing much fainter, is Regulus, the alpha star in the constellation Leo.
You will find it in the large image.

The Hidden Scorpion
I named this picture for the imaginary shape that I see in the dark nebula that skirts about the Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae. This is a mosaic of two 2-hour long integrations of the area.
The Great Andromeda Nebula
It amazes me how this was once considered a great spiral nebula and the dawning comprehension of the true scale and distance of this structure was just a passing thought yet to come. 4 hour exposure.
The Emerald Brick Road
Barely discernable to the naked eye, the rich green glow of Nitrous Oxide's birth taints one of the darkest skies I've seen yet. However, The Milkyway could not be interrupted in its quest to bisect the dark sky.
Gnarled Resilience
Every night, the Sonoran Desert sleeps calm and resolute. Whether the winds are chilled or burning, the tree keeps growing. The spin of the Earth brings seasons day to day.
