For others that like 3D representations of the various sectors of our universe a long time ago one of the contributors, on this site, recommended to me the" Astronomical Companion".
After buying a copy it has been a friendly reference for finding "your" place in the universe. I couldn't remember its name yesterday so I had to go home and find it at "my" place in the universe.

As for spotting those areas in the sky and trying to explain to your wife where you're looking, I was amazed to see that a green laser pointer, available quite inexpensively, works wonders – even as your wife is looking through her binoculars. They are pretty handy but can be quite a nuisance if used "outside" their purpose. The cats "inside" can find them quite irresistible too.
