Ha-ha, Orin, i just realized that I'm standing right next to you. I was thinking the day after, but because you had the wrong day, i just followed along and put the day after what you had...the 13th. So if you had a brain fart, then i must have had a double-stinker. ::insert P.U. smilie(?) here::Orin wrote:My bad; I stand corrected! So if were still here on the 22nd etc; etc! I never understood why the ending of calenders in December implies the end of the world. Up to now, my calenders always ended in December and I could always buy a new one that starts in January.

They do, however, often cuddle cats which they have rescued from trees!

You are mistaken. There is only one year, and it repeats in an infinite cycle. You've actually never bought a calendar, and never will. You just have that memory. When the 2012 calendar runs out this month, we'll be back at January 1, 2012... totally unaware if the infinite number of times we've already been around this track.Markus Schwarz wrote:I never understood why the ending of calenders in December implies the end of the world. Since the Mayan civilization was mostly in the Yucatán Peninsula and the countries of Belize and Guatemala, we should probably use their time zone (UTC−06:00) which is the same as Central Standard Time in the US. In fact, all of what is known as Mesoamerica falls within the Central Time Zone.BMAONE23 wrote:If the world does end on 12-21-12 at least it is on a friday.
If 12-21-12 arrives on the USA West coast then all is likely clear because it is already 12-22-12 in Australia and the world didn't end
12-22-12 arrives in Australia at 1PM GMT
Safest bet in the world. If it ends, you don't have to pay. If it doesn't end, you still don't have to payneufer wrote:I am SO confident that the world will NOT end on 12-21-12

Good bet! I'll make that bet, too!BMAONE23 wrote:Safest bet in the world. If it ends, you don't have to pay. If it doesn't end, you still don't have to payneufer wrote:I am SO confident that the world will NOT end on 12-21-12
