Just call me "geck" because "zilla" is like a last name.

Oh, Starstruck, that's lovely!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 (One heart for every cat!)
Zubi-nubi! Yes, owlice, I like that, too!
Maia is a good name for any dog or cat, Chris. Twenty Tauri Maia really has a ring to it!
My brother's father-in-law got a piglet from his last class of students when he retired. Later that summer, I visited him and his wife and their pig, too! The pig had grown very big, and in my opinion he wasn't a very beautiful animal, but he was very charming and friendly. I scratched the pig between his ears and fed him boiled potatoes.
At Christmas the man and his wife turned their pig into a juicy Christmas ham. I'm glad I wasn't invited to eat their ham with them!

Re: Pets
Beyond I like chicken cooked almost any which way; but I was referring to feeding the chickens. I guess I wasn't being too creepy anyway! Most of the chickens we had were leghorns and were raised from chicks! Mom did have a couple of RI Reds that were pretty good egg layers.Beyond wrote:Since when is roasted chicken or chicken soup, creepyChris Peterson wrote:Your feeding time or theirs? Re: Pets
Orin, i realized that. I was commenting on one side of the double meaning of 'feeding' time that Chris saw, even though chick chick chick, doesn't really fall under the definition of a 'cutesy' pet name.
One of my uncles, many many years ago, had a couple of chicken farms. He switched over to all Leghorns. They eat less for the same amount of eggs produced.

Re: Pets
I made all of the extra ones on the "more smilies" list starting at the cowboy hat and onward with the exception of the owl and the beer mug. And this one, because not everyone wants to show their teeth.
The rest are original phpbb smilies. phpbb3 came with some new ones that look like this but I like the old circular ones better.

Re: Pets
Beautiful border collie? Tess is indeed happy looking; and very active! Sassy has slowed down some and is happy to walk around the house a few times each day. She was 11 in December! She loves sitting on my lap and looking out the window to see what she can bark at!starstruck wrote:

Awww, Sassy is adorable!
In college, friends and I had a running joke about people who gave their dogs real people names. For instance, no one would really name their dog David, but it's hilarious to think about a dog named David, and to think about the owner calling after him..."David, get over here!" Never got old

Re: Pets
Hi tammyss! Thanks for the kind words for Sassy! I see that this is your first post so I welcome you to Starship Asterisk and I hope you have a lot more posts. As far as naming pets; I think it is OK to name them whatever! Sassy was named because of her attitude when she was a puppy. Our last dog we adopted from my daughter! When she got married; she needed to find a home for him because her husband had a hunting dog and with her dog being a big house dog didn't work out; anyway his name was Exit! Don't ask me; but that was a most unusal name! He was an apricot retriever and the most friendly dog I ever encountered! But whatever they are named; after a while that name sticks and really fits; so a dog named David would be OK! After a while; you would get to know him as David! Have a great day!tammyss wrote:Awww, Sassy is adorable!

Re: Pets
I am totally in love with Sassy! I love dogs and cats and other pets so much! Sometimes I take care friends pets.
About pet names....
Dad duck:"William?"
Mum duck:"No!"
Dad duck:"Willbur?"
Mum duck: "Major no!"
Dad duck:"Walther!"
Mum duck:"Absolutely no!"
Dad duck:"Woman, we've got other 36 kids to name, make your mind up!"
Ducks have usually about 12 babies, this pair might have adopted abandoned duck babies, so they had 37 together, was said in the news! (Picture was taken by a person called Mrs Schmidt)
