There are many other nice pictures here. I think Ovidio GarcĂa and Emilio Rivero's image is my favorite. It is a bit too red, but the colors in their picture are enhanced, not false. I love the wonderfully rich palette of colors and the amazing "texture" of the image, which feels very slightly like an oil painting made by one of the old masters. Rembrandt, perhaps?
I also love the image of Venus over Spitzkoppe (that must mean spittoon or cuspidor). Clearly Venus is perilously close to sinking down into all that discarded saliva!
(I hope nobody was eating right now, particularly not donuts...)
Anyway, just yesterday I myself saw Venus riding very low in the sky above an elongated, horizon-hugging dark cloud which had a round "hill" attached to it at one end. Soon Venus seemed to settle right on top of the long dark part of the cloud, making the cloud look slightly like a crocodile with a brilliant white nostril!
And me being me, I like the "blue flash" of Deneb shining down on the Pelican Nebula! Yes indeed, Deneb is a blue star!
I also like the "running man" outline of the Barnard 150 image. The "running man" is running so fast that he's leaving a long dark trail of dust behind him!
