Camel Spider! WOOOAH.

I read a story about one of these that came home in a soldiers backpack from afghanistan. It was the size of a dinner plate and it killed their dog. Not very nice . As much as I don't like them, I saw a poor video of a petrified camel spider being forced to fight a scorpion by american troops in afghanistan. Terrible really.

Actual wolf spiders are the stuff of nightmares for arachniphobics because they carry their young on their abdomen and if you disturb them the young scatter and turn that scary spider into a thousand tiny scary spiders.

What the heck are they then? Just abnormally sized camel spiders? they look pretty big to me

Either way, I think i,d move out as well. I know these creatures are part of the food chain and that we need them. but not where I sleep, or in my home. I once awoke one morning with a spider leg in my mouth. I'd obviously swallowed the rest of it.
Absolutely disgusting. How these people can watch i,m a celeb get me outer here, and live in a soup of bugs, beats me. I really can not watch that program. Making my skin crawl just writing about it.

That article just says they think it killed the dog. They really don't even know. I have my doubts. And there are millions and millions of bugs no matter where you live, except Antarctica. Your issue is that you are prejudiced against foreign bugs.

If I was in the Middle East, I would like to have camel spiders around. They are non-venomous, and they eat scorpions. They might look scary, but they are more scared of you than you are of them.

I clicked on that and couldnt bear to look at it for any more than 10 seconds. I could feel myself gettin more and more nervous. I'm alright with little spiders but those big buggers aren't my cup of tea.

Really scary. I couldn't handle a big spider at all.

Butternuts have oily-sticky outers and I'm not sure but i think Blackwalnuts are similar. Perhaps smell is involved?

When I was a kid; our neighbors had a black walnut tree. I remember they were encased in an outer shell that had to be removed to get to the inner shell They were good but a lot of trouble to get at the goodies.

Well, its no stranger then finding yourself on a giant dust ball wizzing around a star thats wizzing around a galaxy thats heading at breackneck speed to who-the-hell knows where -- is it?
If i can find some fresh ones I'll give it a shot.
If it does not work, then I'll look for a slingshot. If i can not find a slingshot, then a golf club or two should work nicely -- 4!

I've had a few clunkers; but never any conkers. Where do you get them? They do look like they would make good ammo for a slingshot though!
