how can i make an adapter to connect N3 to E3 Connector? do you think it'll be ok if i just connect Tip, Ring & Sleeve of E3 to Expose, Common & Focus pins of N3?
I use the TC-80N3 with a 350D, which also has a 2.5mm connector. Both connectors use the same three signals. There are descriptions on the Internet for performing various mods. You can either cut the connector off and replace it with the phone plug, or use some wire to make pins for the existing connector, and hook those up to the phone connector (which is what I did).

I use the Canon TC-80N3 smart cable release. It works with all Canon DSLRs, but you need to make a little connector adapter to use it with the older models. I think it works without modification with both the 500D and the 40D.
If you have a Rebel XT like I do, this is the best I could find... afaik there is no adapter available. Just FYI:

Wow, thanks guys. That's a lot of information for just one day on the forum. Does every single star that we see have a name or number somewhere?

Many efforts have been made to catalogue the brighter stars.

One of the biggest whole sky catalogues (USNO-B1.0) contains about a billion objects, mostly stars (but a few distant galaxies crept in).

Right, Canon doesn't make an adapter. But the mod is trivial- didn't take me five minutes.
