According to this article about plasma cosmology;
http://www.matter-antimatter.com/plasma_cosmology.htm it does replace the big bang and the steady state. Very interesting. Although you did say that you didn't say 'origin of the universe'.

I say to see if it falls.
At the same time I have not taken the plasma theory fully at heart, there are some issues.
