geckzilla wrote:My pattern memory is doing well today. I knew I remembered seeing OU4 posted here before, albeit not with as much clarity but good nonetheless. Here's a link to a previous submission by Stephane Zoll: http://asterisk.apod.com/viewtopic.php?p=182739#p182739

Do you think that the nebula is lined up with the one in the background by chance or are they somehow related?
I remember seeing Stephane Zoll's image, he took an image of it fairly soon after the paper was published last year. What is needed now is a long exposure closeup that shows it in more detail. I'am very curious about what this object is! There is a chance the two are related but this I think is the more unlikely option. It is more likely that it's large size is due to it being very close, maybe only a few hundred light years. If this is the case, it is one of the largest apparent sized planetary nebulae in our galaxy!! It might not even be a planetary nebula and might be a new type of object!!

Sometimes you get an idea of the sizes of lunar craters is difficult. I wondered why as take a whole lunar mare, such as Mare Humorum (380km/230mi) above Earth's surface, specifically about my country, Spain.

The central image is the result of a video made with a telescope of more than 1000 frames, Humorum Mare, which highlights the crater Gassendi (110 km / 67mi). The satellite image file belongs to Team at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center http://www.nasa.gov/centers/goddard/hom ... j8N1dLIjTo
