Title: Great Globular Cluster in Hercules
Object/Date: M13 @ 2013-07-06
Tech data: GSO 8" f/4 Refractor + Canon EOS 350D camera (12×180 sec. at ISO 1600)
Description:
M13 is the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules, contains about 300.000 stars in a sphere with a radius of 75 years-light. Was discovered by Edmond Halley on 1714. With a combined magnitude of 5,8 is hardly visible at naked eye from dark sites, but with a simple binoculars is possible to perceive its beautiful and resolve a lot of stars that compose it. At upper left it can see the galaxy NGC 6207 with 12 magnitude, and a half dozen more of small and faint galaxies spread along the image.

Northern Lights over Jökulsárlón and Jupiter

Northern Lights over Jökulsárlón glacier lake in Iceland. The moonlight behind me, attenuated by the clouds, illuminated the icebergs which float on the lake. The water surface of it also reflects the northern light colours. The brightest light on the right is Jupiter. The shot also took some stars behind the aurora borealis.

Holy WOWWWWW! This is the first image of Sh2-129 that clearly shows Ou 4!! It was discovered in 2011 but not made public to the world until 2012 and here we are in 2013 with the first "proper" image of it! I predict in 2014 there will hopefully be a study of it published and we will know for sure what it is. Also more info here:
http://arxiv.org/abs/1206.2477
P.S. Also vdB140 looks very nice, this also seems to be possibly the first colour image that clearly shows its associated emission nebula.

Thanks for the comment and link. I also hope there will be an article asap, would like to learn more about this curious object.

My pattern memory is doing well today. I knew I remembered seeing OU4 posted here before, albeit not with as much clarity but good nonetheless. Here's a link to a previous submission by Stephane Zoll:

Do you think that the nebula is lined up with the one in the background by chance or are they somehow related?

The Temple of Debod is originally from Egypt, in an old village near the Nile river, which gives its name ... Debod.
This temple was a gift to Spain for aiding in saving the temples of Nubia (Egypt), due to the construction of the Aswan Dam.
The Temple of Debod is an age of about 2200 years.
About the temple we can see the conjunction of Venus and Saturn on 09/18/2013. If we look closely we can see the planets reflected in the water ...

IC 4628 (Gum 56, Ced 137b, Prawn Nebula ) in Scorpius

IC 4628 (Gum 56, Ced 137b, Prawn Nebula) is an emission nebula located south of Antares about 6 000 light-years away and it is about 250 light-years across. It is observed in the southern part of the constellation, just north of the bright open cluster NGC 6231, which is also located in the same galactic environment. It is an HII region that directly receives the radiation of the massive stars which forms the core of NGC 6231 - Scorpius OB1 association. The main ionizing star is, according to a 1984 study, the blue giant HD 152723. Other sources suggest that the ionizing source is the star HD 322417, also a class O5 or O6, although this may be at a distance greater than the region of Scorpius OB1.
