Orin, don't count on seeing too much green. Practically your whole state is in a severe drought :!:

  • It could have been worse :!:
E.g., a train crash that allowed the animals to escape.

Early this morning the temperature was -6C here, but later today it inched up to +6C. Since it has been sunny all day, there were times today when we could almost believe it was spring. Of course, the north wind was sufficiently strong and icy to remind us that today is April Fool's Day, and that the weather joke is on us!

Geez, i was enjoying a nice day of sunny 60'F weather with a little breeze, when it clouded up, thundered and lightinged, with a downpour. Now it's about 6' above freezeing, with a cold damp north-westerly icy wind. BRRRRR :!: :!: Well, like it's said about New England, if you don't like the weather... wait a while, it'll change. Unfortunately,,, it does that when you're haveing nice weather also. :lol2:

Global temperature anomalies.
Source: SMHI.
This picture shows where you can find the temperature anomalies of March 2013. Yellow areas had "expected" temperatures. Blue areas were colder than expected, and red areas were warmer than expected.

Brrrr. It has been so very cold in so much of Europe. But it has apparently been cold in parts of the United States, too.

I dont want to leave my bed but at some point my diuretic system makes me.
I think I will hybernate, homeostasis sounds good to me at this point till it's warm enough to move around.

The beginning of Art's artful post
Reine, reine,
gueux éveille.
Gomme à gaine,
en horreur, taie.
'translates' into this English invocation/nursery ditty
Rain, rain
Go away
Come again
Another day
I haven't tried the rest, as I'm too busy watching paint dry, but this indicates that this post WAS actually on theme and, for a certain value of 'English', actually IN English
Tho I can't think of any English regional accent that would pronounce 'Another day' as 'en orer tai' - but. presumably, poetic licence is permitted.

The next is

Lit-elle messe, moffette
Satan ne te fête,
Et digne somme coeurs et nouez.
À longue qu'aime est-ce pailles d'Eure.
Et ne Satan bise ailleurs
Et ne fredonne messe. Moffette, ah, ouais!

Little Miss Moffet
sat on her tuffet
eating her curds and whey
along came a spider
who sat down beside her
and frightened Miss Moffet away

I woke up at one in the morning, just in time to experience a severe thunderstorm coming our way. By the time it passed, nearly all of the concrete surface was covered with hail. It'll be nice in the 70s today, but a larger storm will course through tomorrow. Predictions have been made that more severe weather will arrive in mid-May!
