The only icecream I've ever seen with pistachio nuts in it, is green pistachio icecream, which is also yummy!

Spelling mistake, grrrr. Not even a keboard mistake, if you know what I mean.

Then again, spring is both elusive and illusory, so maybe it is indeed illusive!

Moonlady, that pistachio white chocolate ice cream does indeed sound yummy. But like Beyond said, pistachio ice cream is usually green. What with you being a Moonlady, and the Moon supposedly being made of green cheese, well... as long as we talk about green stuff that isn't the greenery of spring, let's settle for the pistachio ice cream, shall we?

Not only can the Finns take temperatures lower than absolute zero, but they are impossibly heat-resistant, too, due to the fact that they stay for hours in their 100C saunas.

When I was a kid, we used to tell this joke about Danes, Swedes and cannibals:

A Dane, a Swede and a Finn had been captured by cannibals. The cannibals wanted to eat their three Scandinavian captives, of course. So they filled their largest cauldron with water and and brought it to boil, then they put the Dane in the boiling water and cooked him for an hour. But when they started to eat him, they found that he was still tough.

So they filled their cauldron again, brought the water in it to boil and put the Swede inside. They cooked him for an hour. But when they started to eat him, they found that he was still tough.

So they filled their cauldron again, brought the water in it to boil and put the Finn inside. They made him cook for four hours. After four hours, however, the Finn put his head out of the water and asked:

"Where's my towel?"

Have you heard about the vegetarian cannibal?
He will only eat swedes...
which is what rutabagas are called in Britain - so this joke may well fall flat on its face...

We got another dusting of snow overnight! It didn't amount to anything and all three days of snow was less than 1 inch! The next forecast is for flurries tomorrow! :? If we could borrow about 6 inches that fell in the eastern states; it would sure help the moisture situation here! Only about 270 mi to KC; but they got about 6 inches according to the News on TV! :?

It's snowing here; expecting just a couple or three inches. I'm glad I cut some daffodils yesterday for the house; they're blooming their little heads off and the snow may flatten them.

Pa. groundhog's handler taking blame for forecast
by JOE MANDAK Associated Press, 03/25/2013

PITTSBURGH—<<An Ohio prosecutor who has light-heartedly filed a criminal indictment against the famous Pennsylvania groundhog who fraudulently "predicted" an early spring said he may consider a pardon now that the animal's handler is taking the blame. That's right, Bill Deeley, president of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club's Inner Circle, on Monday told The Associated Press that the animal rightly predicted six more weeks of winter last month, but Deeley mistakenly announced an early spring because he failed to correctly interpret Phil's "groundhog-ese." "I'm the guy that did it; I'll be the fall guy. It's not Phil's fault," Deeley said.

As a result, Butler County, Ohio prosecutor, Mike Gmoser also told the AP he's reconsidering the charges in light of the new evidence and may issue a full pardon. "Frankly, he is a cute little rascal, a cute little thing," Gmoser said, referring to Phil, not Deeley, his 63-year-old handler. "And if somebody is willing to step up to the plate and take the rap, I'm willing to listen."

The Groundhog Day celebration in Punxsutawney, a borough about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, attracts worldwide attention each year. But the attention stretched well beyond Feb. 2 when Gmoser last week announced issued an indictment as winter-like weather continued across much of the nation even as Spring began. "Punxsutawney Phil did purposely, and with prior calculation and design, cause the people to believe that spring would come early," Gmoser's indictment said, before keeping his tongue firmly planted in his cheek by announcing plans to seek the death penalty.

Deeley tells the AP this is the second year in a row he's misinterpreted Phil's forecast. "Remember, last year at this time it was 80 degrees and Phil had predicted six more weeks of winter," Deeley said. Under normal circumstances, Deeley's interpretation of the forecast is infallible, as long as he clings to the gnarly, magical "Arcadian" cane while the rodent whispers the forecast into his ear. Deeley still doesn't know what went wrong, but said the borough is nonetheless pleased to still be in the news more than six week later—"We couldn't have generate this much publicity with a $10,000 ad campaign"—albeit with more snow on the ground canceling its local schools on Monday.>>

haha, i got a chuck-le out of that, (umm, orange). Moonlady, in another forum, said she thought he would get-off free, because of his connections. So lets hear it for the crafty underground little Hog, who's managed to burrow his way out of the indictment. Rah Rah, go chucky go.

That corrupt club of Phil got him a good attorney, I wonder how much money the attorney got for his smart idea (blaming the lie to the bad hearing of his owner) to get Phil free.

The attorney probably got paid in 'chucked wood'. After all, Phil is a woodchuck-er. :lol2:

Anyway; we finally had nice weather yesterday and it is supposed to get up to 50F today. 8-) We never did get over an inch of snow in the four days that were forecast for it! We still need moisture but I will take the mild weather we are supposed to get! :D

As the German say, the weather 'is not the yellow of the egg' here.

It's snowing, that is ok, but the wind is really icy.

It's snowing here.

According to the weather service, daytime temperatures will slowly inch upwards in the coming week. However, our nights will still be very cold. According to the Danish meteorologists, my hometown of Malmö will get precipitation next Friday and on the Monday after next Friday. Guess what? It will come to us in the form of snow.

More sa-no! Say it ain't so :!: My weather forecasts are rather boreing now-a-days. About freezeing at night and about 50'F for a peak during the day, with a chance of a little precipitation every now and then. But mostly sunny overall, and little to no wind! Yea :!:
