The Cave Nebula (Sh2-155, Caldwell9), LDN1216 and VdB155

Except for the Cave Nebula, the dark nebula LDN1216 (to the right in the image) and the reflection nebula VdB155 (lower right corner) are present in the image.
Since this image is built from three narrow-band images (Ha, SII, OIII) the reflection nebula is rather weak. Due to properties of Rayleigh scattering in gases (same phenomenon that makes Earth's sky blue) reflection nebulae are mostly blue and since the only blue data in a narrow-band image comes from the OIII data - the visibility of the reflections nebula will be somewhat limited.

Narrow-band data can be combined to give an image that is close to a "normal" RGB-image by tweaking the following "recipe": Red = 20% SII + 80% Ha; Green = 100% OIII; Blue: 15% Ha + 85% OIII.

Since this image is built from three narrow-band images (Ha, SII, OIII) the reflection nebula is rather weak. However to this image I have also added some blue data binned 3x3 to make the reflection nebula more visibility.

So why not take a normal RGB image instead? Well, where I live light pollution would make that a very difficult task.

Triangulum Galaxy vs NGC300

NGC 300 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Sculptor. It is inclined at an angle of 42° when viewed from earth and shares many characteristics of the Triangulum Galaxy. That could be the reason why it is called Southern Triangulum.
I shot it and M33 with the same instruments and I think it is interesting to compare in 1:1 (8'' home made newtonian + SkyWatcher Komakorr F/4 + SkyWatcher NEQ-6 PRO + Canon EOS 600D - 45 x 6 min ISO1600 and 35 x 4 min, ISO 1600)

Matts, your rendition of the Cave Nebula is superb! I see that you used JPM's tone mapping technique. You seem to have mastered it!
