Mineral Moon
Full Resolution
This is the result of the mosaic of many moon images (232 shots) that were obtained
during a whole year (2013-2014).
Images was taken in different moon phases, then merged with Photoshop.
Colors on the Moon are dominantly controlled by variations in iron (red) and titanium (blue) content.
With multiple saturation boost operations we can see this colors.
colors that are imperceptible to the naked eye. To create the image I used three different digital SLRs, and a monochrome camera on a Newton 200mm aperture and 1000mm focal length, and a Maksutov Cassegrain 90mm aperture and 1250mm focal length.
I like if you decide to pubblish attached image in the APOD discussion forum Asterisk.
Sorry for my bad english, i'm from Italy.
I hope you enjoy this shot.

Nightscape above Chomoi, Liapades, Corfu
Night landscape above the paradise beach of Chomoi in Liapades Corfu, with the summer Milkyway above the limestones and the marls of Liapades-Yiannades stones.
Just inside the clouds on the right is the old constellation of the Scorpion's Claws, now known as Lybra is the Red planet, Mars, just 1,1AU away. While the lord of the rings Saturn is on the feet of medicine god Asclepius, know as Ophiuchus, just 10,1AU away, and just under it is the giant star Antares almost 604 light years away.
Just above the rocks of the beach of Chomoi is the Summer triangle, with the stars Deneb, Vega and Altair.

Jupiter the Moon behing a Lunar Corona
I enhanced the color of the corona and the brightness of Jupiter to increase the dinamic range. The glow in the sky or atmosphere belongs to led light from a nearby football stadium.
As seeing from Guatemala.

Sagittarius Arm above Old Town of Corfu
What does a Spiral arms looks like above two towns?
Our Galaxy Milkyway, a cosmic island with almost 200 billion stars forming Spiral arms, one of this arms can be seen in the above capture.
With the Sagittarius Star Cloud at the centre and top of the the photo, while just above the light-polluted old town of Corfu we can see the Lagoon Nebula, Messier 8 a giant interstellar cloud in the constellation Sagittarius estimated to be between 4,000-6,000 light years from the Earth and actual dimension of 110 by 50 light years. While next and above M8 it is the Triffid Nebula, also known as Messier 20, is an H II region located in Sagittarius. It was discovered by Charles Messier on June 5, 1764. It is approximately 5000 ly away from Earth. Its apparent magnitude is 6.3.
Also next to Sagittarius Star Cloud is the M17 an H II region in the constellation Sagittarius, Omega Nebula is between 5,000 and 6,000 light-years from Earth and it spans some 15 light-years in diameter.
Unfortunately we can barely see the Milkyway Galaxy, the two towns Corfu and Igoumenitsa are making light-pollution to the night-sky. As we can see the lights from the new port are so bright, even there are anti-lightpolution and spot all the light down. Bust still, the light of the monuments like old Fortress or the city lights are light-up the nightsky.
Enjoyable presence on this capture is the Waning Crescent Moon age 27 days old on the left side of the picture, with disc illumination just 7% and just 378771 km away from us...

My first Milky Way shot from this season was from an Airplane on my way back to Argentina. The image was shot over Argentina, I used a manfroto 055 and waited until the lights went off to capture this amazing view of the Milky Way over some Argentinian towns, after several shots to find a good moment of no turbulence I finally shot this one, that shows up the amazing view of the milky way from an airplane.
