Geminids Meteor Shower over Wilson Hill
A meteor shower is a phenomena caused by Earth's gravitation and space debris. During earth's journey around sun in a year, earth come across comet dusts. There are plenty of active and inactive comets in our solar system which have left their dust during their journey towards sun. Earth's gravitational force absorb that space debris and it causes meteors. Geminids meteors are the result of a space object Paethon 3200 which is likely to be a palladian asteroid. The meteors in this shower appear to come from a radiant in the constellation Gemini. Hence this one is known as Geminids meteor shower. Its is a stack of 6 images in which meteors appeared from 1 hour and 13 min of time-lapse. Foreground illuminated by moonlight.

That's lovely, geckzilla, and it looks like an astronomical Christmas card. In my opinion NASA should have made it its official Christmas card.

Just submitted some images here, I am new to this site so hello to members. Images look very good! I am a relatively newcomer to imaging, have been doing it for around three years now and built u-p a reasonable kit to image with here in Bungay UK. Skys not the best but it makes getting images a challenge!
All my images and bio and the kit I use are on my web site at
"
