High resolution HaRGB (8Mp)
NGC 7000 is also known as the North America Nebula with the so called Gulf of Mexico. In this area the Cygnus Wall can be found. This part is the Mexican and Middle American part of the Nebula. It’s one of the most interesting parts of the nebula because this is a region of active star formation. Very near to the Wall a dark area (the Gulf of Mexico) can be seen that consist mainly of cold gas and dust, the ingredients for new stars. The wall actually is an ionization front where UV light from young stars ionize the cold hydrogen gas and make it glow in its typical red color.
Telescope: TEC-140
Camera: QSI-583
Mount: NEQ-6
6 x 1800 s H-alpha (3nm astrodon)
4 x 600 s R,G,B (astrodon gen 2 true RGB)
Total exposure time: 5 hours
Until now this is my finest image concerning the star colors and sizes I think...

I took this image of the Cygnus constellation last week in the French Pyrenees. With the bright star Deneb in the swan's tail, appears high in the summer sky along the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy. Its brightest stars mark the Northern Cross and the three bright stars Deneb, Vega (in the constellation of Lyra), and Altair (in the constellation of Aquila) mark the Summer Triangle. I had a fun time pointing to in the picture each one of the stars of the constellation and its neighbors.

Dancing boats

An early dawn startrail image taken at Lake Balaton, at the harbour of Alsóörs, on 18-07-2013 while I was waiting for Mars and Jupiter to emerge above the boats.
A very light breeze was slowly moving the sailboats so the result of the image became this dynamic but still calm pic. Stars began to fade into the brightening dawn, the lake reflected the purple and blue colours, the boats and their masts reflected the streetlights at the coastline creating a golden-orange curtain above the boats.

Lobster tastes better with Lemmon

Captured over 2 nights, the 14th and 15th July, I was oblivious to the fact that Comet Lemmon was visiting this neighborhood, when I processed this at first I thought I had captured aircraft lights.
So much happening in this barrage of a cosmic garden with the M52 Cluster (top center) The Bubble Nebula NGC7635 (left of center), the emission and reflection nebula NGC7538 (lower central area) and Sharpless 157 or otherwise known as The Lobster Claw Nebula (bottom left) and Comet Lemmon in the upper right. I created a time lapse video showing the movement of Comet Lemmon during this capture which can be seen here
