Just in time for Halloween...
This is a target I have been hoping to process for a while and have always been mesmerized by the intricate filaments and details in the SHO data I've seen. For this version I wanted to accentuate those details while keeping the rich star field and more subtle details around the edges. Overall my goal was to communicate both the turbulent nature of the nebula while nodding to its spooky, hairy namesake.
Data captured from 9/6 - 10/3

Mikel and Cèdric, you blew me away with this image! The bar of the LMC is so pearly and translucent, and the Tarantula and the surrounding nebulosities are so boldly in-you-face "thick", "massive" and pink! It is as if the "boiling and churning" Tarantula region was just bursting and exploding out of the almost immaterial bar of the LMC!lizarranet wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 10:40 pm Tarantula nebula in LMC

Nick, you have done an excellent job at creating beautiful colors from exposures taken through only two filters. The various strange shapes and the elegant overall composition adds to the appeal of your image.sydney wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2020 2:56 am Wizard, Bat, and Ghoul
