On November 24, 2019, the conjunction of planets Venus and Jupiter occurred. They were less than 2 degrees apart. I like to include our planet Earth with any astro events I photograph to give humbling context to where we are in relation to our night skies.

We need to look more to the sky!

t caught my attention this photo by some points:

1) Fall of a meteor at the bottom of the photo
2) Capture andromeda over the larger screen, with a cloud high above it showing andromeda during photo enlargement. Detail, this cloud took too long to get out.
3) That peace and feeling of freedom that astrophotography causes.

M74. KG Observatory, Julian, CA.

The November weather hasn't been very cooperative this dark cycle. We're seeing clouds and 20 mph+ wind nearly every day.

Last night was surprisingly clear, dark and steady. Here's M74 from what I can gather from 8 PM to 1 AM. A bit noisier than my normal 15 hours, but surprisingly deeper than I expected. Humidity was very low (30%), so that may have helped. Big snow storm on the way, so I suppose this is "the calm before the storm".

"M74 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Pisces, 32 million light-years away from Earth.

The galaxy's low surface brightness makes it the most difficult Messier object for amateur astronomers to observe. However, the relatively large angular size of the galaxy and the galaxy's face-on orientation make it an ideal object for professional astronomers who want to study spiral arm structure and spiral density waves. It's estimated that M74 is home to about 100 billion stars."

Description: after a long car ride, given that the time was short for the meeting of the moon with Venus and Jupiter before they would have set, I manage to head towards the Ionian Sea in the Syracuse area, where the moon is now about to hide. November 28th it's 6:13 pm around me it's pitch dark, I don't have a torch, I position my camera in the rocks and capture this moment where the moon near Venus is about to greet me.

Hi all!

NGC 249 is an emission nebula in the Small Magellanic Cloud. Furthermore there are NGC 261 and NGC 267 in the field as well as LHA 115-N 9, a planetary nebula. This region is not often photographed in high resolution.
LHA 115-N19 shows interesting structures, similar to a supernova remnant.

Close conjunction of Moon and Jupiter from Thursday 31st of October.
Photo taken around 16:48 (separation 17 arc seconds).
Altitude of the planet was only around 9 degrees above the horizon.

Additionally at 16:48 we had a chance to observe nice setup of Jupiter Galilean moons – Io approching Jupiter shield and starting its tranist, Europa on Jupiter disk, Callisto just above the planet and Ganimedes in far distance.
