The most famous version of this galaxy is the one made by the HST, but it's a very rare object for amateurs because of its distance (500 million LY away) and its apparent size (1,1' x 0,9'). Even with a 1m RC (and its 6,7m of focal lenght), it is still a little target !
Its reshift is 0,03, which correponds to a recessional Velocity of 10.000 km/s.
The galaxy was once a normal spiral galaxy before it apparently underwent a head-on collision with a smaller companion (probably one of the little galaxies just around on the image). When the nearby galaxy passed through the Cartwheel Galaxy, the force of the collision caused a powerful and high speed shock wave through the galaxy, which created a starburst and the bluish ring around the galaxy.
Setup : RC 1m - ASA DDM85 - FLI ProLine16803 - Chilescope remote
Total integration : 3h45

I love that picture of Comet 21P "plowing right through" cluster M35. It looks as if the comet is about to hit one of the brightest stars and send it flying!

Open Cluster NGC 6704
Constellation of Scutum
Magnitude: 9.2
Discovered by the German astronomer Friedrich August Theodor Winnecke in 1854.
Dark nebulae: Barnard 104, complex B110-B113
Field with a huge dark appeal. There are several nebulae in the space of the sky,
mostly Dark Nebulae. Those that are massive and large regions of gas and dust are blood-formers
stars. Dark nebulae are not illuminated by nearby stars, hence the coloration
dark matter. Dark nebulae are crucial to the life cycle of the universe
For the raw generations for a next generation of stars and planets.
You may be looking at nothing, but nothing can be more of truth.
