It's a Canadian thing. Tim Hortons, the iconic Canadian coffee and donut chain, has 4300+ stores, almost all of them in Canada. I've been eating their donuts for nearly 50 years, and from before that I have fond memories of watching donuts being made in the local Kresge's store (or Woolworth's, maybe) as a child. For a few years almost a decade ago, I owned and operated a couple of my own coffee and donut stores here, under the name of The Donut Machine. (My avatar is a sugar donut I made.) Alas, I over-estimated the public's desire for good old-fashioned donuts and fair-trade organic coffee, so now I'm reduced to studying Physics.

Click to play embedded YouTube video.
Watch "Laser kitten! Mercury the two legged kitten takes on the laser."
This video is heartbreaking rather than cute. Nevertheless, it has a sort of happy ending. And after Margarita's wonderful post about Mercury, I wanted to post this video about Possum, the neglected cat.
Even though that exceeds my 'cute' threshold by quite a bit, it's still rather amazing!

We've got a family of red foxes living under one of our sheds. The kits have just started coming out, I guess they're around 6 weeks old. They still stick close, although we see the mother running around all over with rabbits and other goodies for them. Looks like there are three kits, although we found a dead one in our barnyard a couple days ago, so I think the litter started out larger. My wife was going to put the dead kit on an ant mound so she could keep the skeleton, but a vulture got to it first.

Yeah. That's actually the second in a sequence. The encounter starts like this:
What is that little thing, and where did you find the picture of it?

I remember that picture. It's actually a toy of some sort that someone made and then the picture went around the 'net with someone adding a claim that it's a real polar bear baby.

Looks like Geck is correct. I found it on a Google search for baby polar bears and found it just too adorable
Apparently this is what a baby polar bear looks like at that point http://www.cutestpaw.com/images/newborn-polar-bears-2/

Yeah, I know that photo. Shame it's not a real polar bear as it looks adorable.
