Today's APOD has a rather witty title. Although, I'm not sure that the sky is happy with all that light pollution/haze(/smog? Is that word still in use??)

I didn't get to see this particular view of the planets and moon Sunday due to the weather, but Monday evening was superb, IMO. (I just wish the wind has been a bit less, or I were tougher and could stand to be out in it longer.....)

But I do like some of the images of planetary conjunctions! 8)

Not only is the view pleasing but I had a rewarding moment last evening when I was asked what stars or planets those were near the moon and was able to accommodate the answer.

Was particularly spectacular from the southern skies, I viewed from Perth, Australia, the heavens were certainly smiling down

Actually, I do know this about horses… if the horse is having a bad day, doesn’t want to obey the reins and doesn’t want anything to do with a rider on its back… well… if you grab their ear, they will stop… at least this particular horse would stop… of course I didn’t learn that bit of knowledge until after I was thrown into a tree... It's a good thing the tree broke my fall, otherwise I would have hit the ground. (I'm feeling a little bit Yogi Berra today)

Say... one good thing about getting old is you gain excess brain matter... at least that's my theory... how else do you explain my hair turning grey but leaking brains... wait a minute... what if it isn't excess!!

Nice APOD, but I was extremely disappointed that it's been cloudy here for the last week, so I haven't gotten to see the conjunction myself yet, and the moon's moving out of the picture.

My friends are experiencing some kind of difficulty on opening your 12/03 APOD I'v send them to notice the full mirror effect of showing the moon crescent from left to right upwards and the planets downwards from the moon while in Rio they appeared just the opposite. That's quite significant as constelations appear on Brazilian flag on half mirror, changing left for right as if they would look as a projection from outer space. Should my friends use some command to open the outlook express mail of your picture?
