Don't expect to see anything this year. The Perseids are on strike.

There should be a Perseid Meteor Shower about August 12, 2008 and a Solar eclipse on my birthday and a partical Lunar eclipse on August 16, 2008.

There will be no moon during the 2010 Perseids, so they should be plentiful.

Last night around midnight I saw two shooting stars, in the SSW sky, just to the right of the Milky Way, about five minutes apart.

There is a camping trip in the mountains where the night sky is crystal clear brilliant next weekend to see the Perseids, and I'm thinking it might be worth the trip.
