Good evening
I live in West Covina California / Southern California and although we enjoy some of the foulest air quality on this rock I happen to own a 10 inch reflector telescope “ For those one to two nights out of the year that you can actually see the moon “ In any event could someone please tell me at what time and in which direction I might look to see this comet
If it were come to pass that one of those two nights a year in which seeing it might be possible was to be this week

If you think of the North Star at 12:00, then the comet lies at about the 2:00 position in the sky and can be seen easily after 10:pm. follow from the Pleaides (3:00 position) about 1/3 of the way towards Polaris.

If this cometary coma appears to be 1/3 the size of the moon, and with the comet oriting beyond Mars, the Coma would envelope the planet Mars, (What a meteor shower that would give.)

Where is Holmes
Just after dark, NNE
Look up and find bright stars shaped like a misformed "W"
Go down to the left a little, after a gap about the size of the entire "W" you will see 3 stars not quite in a row. The center star is the brightest.
The comet is just above and right of the center star.
IT is very dim to the eye and just looks like a very small cloud
With binoculars, still looks like a small cloud, only better.
Look up and find bright stars shaped like a misformed "W"
