'3D Full Moon' (APOD 02 June 2007)
Using red and blue glasses the 3D effect of this APOD is superb. It is probably the best such 3D effect I've ever seen. Thanks to Laurent Laveder for an excellent APOD.
I tried the cross eyed method but I find that very hard to do and achieve a result.

Yeah, me too.DavidLeeds wrote:Using red and blue glasses the 3D effect of this APOD is superb. It is probably the best such 3D effect I've ever seen. Thanks to Laurent Laveder for an excellent APOD.
Although I occasionally seem to be able to make it look 'inside out'... like I'm staring across a fish bowl and the image is on the opposite side of the bowl.
It's well weird.

the crossing eye method is all that I can do. If you purposly cross your eyes inward, it will invert the depth perception, and it hurts my eyes. But if you cross your eyes, focusing them slightly further than your monitor, splaying them outward, the depth perception is accurate, and looks pretty cool.
Of course it takes some practice, I sit 5 foot back from my monitor, and even when I overlap the images for 3-4 seconds, it is still blurred. Eventually it clears up though, and looks awesome.

My depth perception is iverted though I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right way (all other pictures I have ever seen were not inverted). For that reason I swapped moons here.rigelan wrote:it will invert the depth perception
I've been playing around with this Moon a bit... so, here you can try and cross your eyes on higher resolution images... I have shifted to new hosting, so if you get 404 errors, check back in a day.
