no it was not a helpicopter or any lightning, it sure was cloudy but..if the cloud thickly covers over a full moon, u can see a thin light, it was like that, but it was not the moon, something that was moving in an arc shape back and forth, it was moving in arc shape for atleast 30min, and fast, just like moving a torch light from one side to another side of the same wall.

Unfortunately, Without seeing same, we can only speculate as to the source of origin for your strange light. Sometimes it pays to carry a digital camera that can make MPG files (Movies). A picture paints 1000 words.

On June 5th 2007 at 10:00 p.m I was at the Queen Elizabeth school in Mississauga, Ontario, to pick my son and his friends. I saw exactly same type of light in the sky behind one cloud. Actually it was like three lights about size of full moon moving behind one oblong cloud. The lights were moving ( like lights moving on dance floor) only behind that cloud. We never saw light outside the cloud. We watch it for around 20 minutes and then left as kids have school. Unfortunately we did not take pics. All of us were amazed. We rule out the possibility of lightening or plane as the light was totally different and no sound at all. It was white diffused light. The moving and flashing lights were observed around 60-70 degree on south east. When I saw the post exactly similar like me I am somewhat relieved.
The question is still there what it is?

Suneeta is absolutely correct, ther was no sound ( i forgot to mention ) watever it was..it was coming from ABOVE the cloud.

Thats what I am thinking too. so I was searching for similar report from Mississauga. But may be people do not go out late on weekdays. But atleast people living in high rise may have seen it? When we were watching ,there were many people around us but ofcourse sitting in the car, waiting for their kids to come. Fortunately I got out of the car and saw the flashing lights. My kid and his friends were wathcing too.But many people like to ignore it or may not be curious at all. I was amazed by the light but more surprised by reaction of people who do not even bother to come out of the car. Enen though they saw we were looking in the sky at particular spot for long time.
At least I found you guys who have similar kind of sighting. Personally I do not believe in UFO's. But the lights which I saw were not normal.
May be some one know scientific reason behind it.

Maybe it's a night bird...
I hope NASA can explain the phenomenon for us...

Please post an image or MPG file then an answer might be found.

Otherwise you get this:

"I saw a light in the sky, any idea what it is?"

Can you solve my light question?

Spotlights on the ground projecting on a cloud deck, perhaps? In clear air the beams themselves would not be visible, only the projections illuminating the clouds.

they were not spotlights, im sure of that because spotlights have certain range and can't reach beyond their limits..since it was moving back and forth and then the light changed its direction to far distance, now thats obvious the spotlight can't be powerful as a laser beam..

Post by aliceincode » Tue Sep 18, 2007 9:23 am

hi all
hey I am in Australia too and I been watching these for 5 weeks now every night all night long they are here sometimes up to 10 of them in the sky at a time shining some type of spotlights on the top of the couds !!
not planes and not helecopters they sit there for ages, move up and down, they dissapear into some type of invisible cloud but you can see the lights reflecting of it when they go in...they circle each other flash lights at each other .... same same no news nothing said ... although the airforce is watching them and go and check them out every few days!
Looks like an alien encounter to me and it appears to be happening in every country from my googling.
cheers

So 5 weeks now, that is interesting. Got any pictures of this phenominon??? Or MPEG files? Most new digital cameras will do both.
