what is the diffrence between astroioidds and comets?

They seem to be quite similar but with some small differences mainly to do which how they behave and where they originate. I confess I never really thought about this.

asteroids are dead comets ( devoid of volatile matter ) pass the beer :D

Asteroids are also the free floating, left over material from the formation of the solar system that didn't fall within the orbital path of a planetary body and therefore weren't absorbed into a larger planet.

A comet leaves a tail. or trail of material as it orbits close to the sun.

An asteroid has no tail as it never gets close enough to the sun.

Thus you have it, an asteroid is a tailless comet, , , :wink:
