Approaching Object
With the "given" that the object is far above the atmosphere, which all indications are just that, I suggest it to be of a relatively flat or cylindrical shape with a variable albedo that is approaching (relatively speaking) the two cameras, thus the aspect changes. Its highest reflectivity, when "side-on" increases as its attitude changes during the photographed period, with minimal reflectivity at the end when the end surface is aligned with the camera(s). A booster such as 3rd stage of a Saturn rocket would fit, the ends are quite dark and the sides are very bright, and if approaching the pattern would fit well with the observation.
