Re: Submissions: 2024 November
It is one of the images ( The Witch Head Nebula) that has brought me the most satisfaction, as photographing reflection nebulae from a city seemed like an impossible idea, despite the light pollution filters available today. This session was taken from a fifth-floor balcony in my city, Montcada i Reixac, near Barcelona (Catalonia), in a Bortle 8/9 zone with no visibility to the North, without Polaris, using drift alignment. I needed several sessions and many captures, but I couldn’t be happier with the result. It still feels unbelievable to me.
Thinking about what we are gradually losing in cities, and realizing that it shouldn't be a privilege but a right and a heritage not only of humanity but of all the inhabitants of our planet—fauna and flora—and seeing that, despite everything, it is still possible
Date and location the images was taken: 7/01,08/01,09/01/and 10/01/24.
Equipment used: Asi294 mc pro, Antlia triband RGB, HEQ-5 & Refractor Skywacher 72/420 Evostar 72 ED.
Exposure times, Gain: 52x300” Gain 120, 50x120" Gain120
Software used during capture/processing; DSS, Pixinsight, Adobe Lightroom.

Re: Submissions: 2024 November
IC 1805 is a nebula located 7,500 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. Its reddish appearance comes from gases ionized by the massive young stars of the Melotte 15 cluster. It is a region where many stars are still forming today.
IC 1848, the Soul Nebula, is located 7,500 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is illuminated by young stars that ionize the surrounding gases, giving it its reddish hue. The nebula features structures known as "pillars of creation," where new stars are formed from clouds of gas and dust.
