HI! This is a shot that I've taken in Iceland in front of the famous Skogarfoss waterfall on the night between19th and 20th April.
I shot with Nikon Z8 and 20mm f1.4 shooting at 8 seconds, f2 and 800 ISO
I took several photos to best extrapolate the Milky Way and enhance the Northern Lights using the stacking technique.
There was also a full moon which created a beautiful rainbow over the waterfall

Spanning over 8 nights last autumn, I collected this LRGB data set from my home observatory under Bortle 5/6 skies, with a total integration time just shy of 59 hours. Sporting an uncanny resemblance to a shark, LDN 1235, also known as the Shark Nebula, is a molecular cloud in the Cepheus constellation. It is likely an extended red emission (ERE) nebula. The light coming from this nebula is produced by it's dust particles being hit by high energy UV radiation.

How much can the brightness change during an auroral outburst?
Photo description:
How much can the brightness change during an auroral outburst? This set of photos was taken when the aurora broke out in the early morning of April 3 this year. I used a fisheye lens to record the continuous changes within 4 minutes, and the single photo was exposed for 6 seconds. The bottom of each photo is north, and the right is east. It can be seen that the aurora only dances in the northern sky after falling from the zenith. At first, there were only faint red and green auroras in the sky. Next, the intensity of the red auroras does not change significantly, but the green part becomes stronger and stronger, and the amplitude of the dance becomes larger and larger. In less than 4 minutes, the red and green auroras filled the entire northern sky, swaying and dancing from west to east! This was my first time to see the aurora. The changes in intensity were so huge, far beyond my imagination. It was really a wonderful experience.

Chamaeleon Molecular Complex:
Last month I spent the night at our local astronomy groups' dark site in Chittering (just North of Perth, Western Australia) to capture the beautiful dark-dustyness of 'Chamaeleon Molecular Complex' in full natural RGB colour. These are definitely my favourite types of targets. It's so satisfying getting all the data for an image in one night as opposed to spending weeks (and sometimes months) acquiring data on a single object!

Colours of the night

It was the last night of our vacation. The last night we decided to go up to the observatory at 4:30 am from our accommodation to see the beautiful night sky on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands. On the way from the car to the photo location we noticed that we could see some bright streaks in the sky, but we weren't sure what they were. Anyway, they were visible to the naked eye without the need for side vision!
Once we started shooting, it was clear what they were. It was an incredibly bright airglow (natural glow of the sky) that highlighted the otherwise invisible gravity waves present in our atmosphere.
And so we got a glimpse of the two MAGIC Cherenkov telescopes (with an incredible diameter of 17 metres!) that study cosmic rays by recording the Cherenkov radiation, which, in simple terms, is produced inside a shower of particles when cosmic rays interact with the Earth's atmosphere. To the left, you can see a similar LST telescope that was just out of commission. The whole atmosphere was enhanced by the sounds coming from the MAGIC telescopes' mounts. It was an incredible experience to see the telescopes in motion. They are able to move to any place in the sky in 22 seconds!
This is a part of full sky panorama made from 35 single shots with exposure time 15 seconds. It was captured with Canon EOS 6D, ISO 6400 and Sigma Art 24 mm f/1.4@2.8 lens was used.

Hello, My photo of the Lagoon Nebula, the Spikes pattern generated by the 3-legged spider always reminds me of James Weeb. In this version I focused on preserving the details of the center without losing the quality of the surroundings. If you can see, there are also details in the center of the nebula where there is a contrast of colors between blue and yellow stars and of course the gas and dust clouds. I made adjustment improvements again to have a smoother and more precise capture, as it is a practically ATM setup, it is always possible to make more precise improvements.

Brief description: The Milky Way meets the band of Zodiacal Light in the dark sky site of Big Bend National Park. Jupiter, the Pleiades and bright constellations are joined by the bright trail of the uncontrolled reentry of the Orbital Module of the Chinese Shenzhou 15 spacecraft on the bottom right. "Shenzhou" roughly translates to "Divine Craft" and it is touching to think that this compartment of the spacecraft served as the home of 3 Chinese astronauts before it burned in the Earth's atmosphere.

We were in Iceland, to be precise in the Jokulsarlon bay on the edge of the largest glacier in Europe, the magnetometers recorded an intensity of kp6 and I think I captured the apex in this image!

It's me and my friends who are delighted to be able to attend an unforgettable night show.

Cederblad 122 - Star cloud associated with nebulosity
A large area covered by a dense star cloud and a faint emission nebula in its background spans in more than 2 degrees in the constellation of Centaurus. In dark skies this region is visible at naked eye and present a remarkable contrast with the Coal Sack which is close beside. Astronomer Sven Cederblad published his catalogue of 215 galactic diffuse, emission and reflection nebulas in 1946.
Have added an annotated image to check many objects in the fov o roughly 5x4 degrees

Hello,

The night of May 5, 2024 will remain in my Astro heart forever,
while doing the session and mentioning the biggest car I had seen a dozen or so years ago, after just a few moments the sky was pierced by the biggest car I have ever seen and in the last stage it broke into several pieces.
What a sight and emotion it was, and it's one day before the Eta-Aquarids maximum.
In addition, one of the most beautiful views of the Milky Way in Poland, which attracts crowds of photographers here every year.

Dear Editors,
we would like to submit our latest image of M87 for your evaluation as APOD.

A total of 743 images (5 mins each) were acquired from the town of Lanciano, Italy, from 7 March to 12 April 2024 using a Meade LX200 10” SCT on a 10 Micron GM2000 HPS II mount with a QHY 268m CMOS camera equipped with Astrodon RGB filters. The images were calibrated and processed with PixInsight 1.8.
To reveal faint details, we subtracted a model of M87- created with a two dimensional parametric fitting algorithm (GALFIT v.3)- from all three
RGB integrated images.

Sunspots AR3668 and AR3664 - amazingly beautiful magnetically active regions of our nearest star. Often accompanied by proms, solar flares and coronal mass ejections, they are easily identified by their obvious dark appearance on an otherwise bright solar surface. Strangely enough, this pair of sun spots seem to have taken a different appearance: some see a worm, others a baby chick, stretching it's neck to peer above the sea of hydrogen gas. What do you see?
