Farewell, Orin Stepanek, faithful and friendly supporter of Starship Asterisk*

One of Starship Asterisk*s most faithful and friendly supporters, Orin Stepanek, has sadly passed away.

Orin loved astronomy, and he posted a friendly comment on almost every APOD ever posted since he first joined Starship Asterisk* on June 27, 2005. By doing so, he played a big part in making APOD a warm and welcoming site for astrophotographers to have their labor of love put on display for the world to see.

Orin also made posts about his love of gardening, and about his love for dogs.

All told, Orin made 8,200 posts here at Starship Asterisk*, which is 3.22% of all posts that have ever been made at this site.

Farewell, Orin! You were a warm, enthusiastic and generous person who made Starship Asterisk* a better place to be. Thank you so much for your contributions!
