Milky Way in Cygnus

A 32°×26° view of the Milky Way in the constellation Cygnus is presented in different color composites. This region is full of emission nebulae which are partially obscured by dark nebulae near the galactic plane.

HII region around California Nebula (NGC 1499)

Around the California Nebula (NGC 1499) there is a huge HII region which lies behind the dust in constellations Perseus and Taurus and thus is only visible in the voids and less dense regions of these molecular clouds. A 30°×30° wide-field view is presented which (probably) shows entire nebula.

IC 2162 is a HII Ionized region in the Orion constellation and is the brightest part of an emission nebula complex. The nebula complex consists of the Sharpless objects Sh 2-254, Sh 2-255 (IC 2162), Sh 2-256, Sh 2-257, and Sh 2-258.

This image was captured, in a Queen Creek (Arizona) Bortle 7 backyard, using a Skywatcher Esprit 150ED telescope. The telescope is mounted on a 10Micron GM2000 HPS II mount. The camera is a ZWO ASI 2600MM Pro using Antlia VPRO LRGB, HA 3nm, and OIII 3nm filters. It was captured over 6 nights (2022-11-13 to 2022-11-19). The images were stacked/processed in Pixinsight and fine-tuning done in Photoshop. Copyright: James Hawks.

A dramatic November sky showing the zodiacal light and gegenschein (counterglow) as it was seen at Roque de los Muchacos Observatory in La Palma, Canary Islands.The gegenschein was bright enough to be seen by naked eye.
The image is a stack of 8 shots x 120 sec (16 minutes in total) at ISO 5000 made by Canon 6D camera (astro modified with BCF filter) + Samyang 12mm lens using a Skywatcher Star Adventurer tracker.
The background is a single shot of 120 sec. at ISO 6400.
Stacked in Sequator, composition and processing in Photoshop.

It's the record of a meteor that I made while capturing several images to perform a startrail.
As I was pointing to the south celestial pole, there was no prediction of rain passing in this note, the closest and most visible on that day were those of Leonid meteor shower and α-Monocerotid, so I believe that a meteor of those rains must have passed in front of my lenses, but I strongly believe it is more likely to be from the rain of Leonid meteor shower

Retrograde motion of Mars next to the Golden Gate!

Loop of Mars (Aug 18, 2007 - Apr 26, 2008)

Right now Mars is in opposition to the Sun while shining brightest. On Dec 8, 2022 Mars has reached the middle of its loop on its retrograde motion.
This chrono-photography from the years 2007/08 shows quite exactly how it happens now 15 years later for the first time again.

Explanation:
The Triangulum Galaxy (M33) is ~2.73 million light years from Earth in the constellation Triangulum. This is the third largest galaxy in our local group after Andromeda and our Milky Way. M33 has a bright apparent magnitude of 5.7, making it one of the most distant objects that keen-eyed observers can view with the naked eye under very dark skies.

This image is a two panel mosaic. It was captured in a Queen Creek (Arizona) Bortle 7/8 backyard using a Skywatcher Esprit 150ED telescope. The telescope is mounted on a 10Micron GM2000 HPS II mount. The camera is a ZWO ASI 2600MM Pro using Antlia VPRO LRGB and HA 3nm filters. It was captured over 9 nights (2022-11-20 to 2022-11-30). The images were stacked/processed in Pixinsight and fine-tuning done in Photoshop.

I captured this image on the evening of December 7, 2022, from San Diego, CA. The image shows a detailed view of Mars rising above the southeastern lunar limb, as it reappeared after occultation by the Moon. The image is the result of stacking 15 frames taken within a 2s duration between 19:28:50 and 19:28:52 local time (PST). The image is not a composite, and there were no selective enhancements or repositioning of elements within the frame. A single exposure setting was suitable for both Mars and the Moon, and the short interval from which the frames were selected for stacking ensures that minimal relative motion occurred.

This Leonid was captured on Nov 19th 2022 at 06:38 UTC which is close to the time of the newly predicted outburst between 06:00 and 06:30 UTC. I stacked all frames to show how it might look as a photo and then took a single frame to show the bright green persistent train. I then selected several frames that shows how it transitioned from red to green as it was being ionized by the friction caused by traveling through our upper atmosphere.

This Taurid Fireball was captured on Nov 16, 2022 at 07:06 UTC facing south from Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. This fireball appeared about 19 mins after the launch of Artemis 1, which was launched at 6:47:44 UTC. I stacked all the frames to show how it will probably look as a photo and then I selected some of the frames to show how it transitioned as it traveled through our upper atmosphere.
