The daily grind
A busy construction worker going about his day, completely oblivious of the celestial alignment underway right behind him.
Shot from Mumbai, India at 17:17 on 25th October, 2022. I used a Nikon d5300 with a 70-300mm kit lens and a solar filter.

Milky Way from Scutum to Ophiuchus
A 50°×16° wide-field view of Milky Way that covers large parts of the constellations Scutum, Serpens Cauda and Ophiuchus. That part of the sky is characterized by HII regions near the galactic plane, the large emission nebula SH2-27 (Zeta Ophiuchi Nebula), and dense star clouds, more or less hidden behind dark nebulae.

Re: Submissions: 2022 October
This is todays solar eclipse. Seen from the Observatory and planetarium in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. The image was taken around 10:01 UTC. As the weather did not play to our advantage, I tried to be a little creative. I took my Canon 6D and a 200mm lens and waited for the Sun to be partly visible behind the clouds. I then took an image directly without any filter used with the fastest shutter (1/4000) on the DSLR. I took a series of pictures through the event and have chosen thisone to be most interesting. No colors were added.

Title: The Sun and the moon together!
Partial Solar Eclipse 25-10-2022
This evening, sky gazers in most parts of the globe were graced with one of the beautiful solar eclipses in recent times as it was near sunset giving the viewers a unique look and perspective.
For me this was my first ever solar eclipse which I was going to capture and had been planning for this shot from a long time and wanted to have a foreground which would add to the beauty of the partial solar eclipse. l was able to find this perfect spot near Rawal Lake, Bani Gala, Islamabad. I always wondered if i could ever capture the Sun and the moon together in a single frame and today was my chance.
It was an overwhelmingly surreal experience to capture this fine moment and witness it live in the western horizon of Rawal Lake with its reflection, one to remember for a lifetime!
Exif: EOS 1300D, Samyang 135mm, single image with slight crop keeping aspect ratio, f/4, ISO 100, 1/4000 sec exposure
Time and date: 17:09 PM, 25-10-2022.
Location: Rawal Lake, Bani Gala, Islamabad, Pakistan.

Full animation of Solar eclipse, 25 Oct 2022, 2h 47 min
Hi all,
We were very lucky to have a beautiful sunny day today in Vouliagmeni, Greece).
Statistically, 72% of October 25th is cloudy...
This allowed for 84 solar captures in H-alpha that were turned to a FULL ANIMATION of the Solar Eclipse of 25 October 2022.
It is a pity that the sun was much much less active (number and size of solar spots and fast moving prominences), otherwise the spectacle would be amazing. Even so, it is a fantastic event and having it at its full extent in an animation does not occur ...every day.
I feel very happy I lived this in my life.
Hope you will like it.

Eiffel Tower and the solar eclipse
Here is a picture of the eclipse see from Paris at its apogee that happened at 12h02 local hour.
For this picture I had to take two photograpies, one for the sun with a solar filter and one for the foreground because the sun was too bright to get its shape without a filter. I built a custom filter with an astrosolar sheet, It’s pretty simple and I was quite surprised by the results. I went to the Seine banks in Paris to align the eclipse with the Eiffel Tower.
Equipment : Canon 6D - Samyang 135mm - Astrosolar filter
Pic with filter : ISO-100 - 1/20sec - F5
Pic without filter : ISO-100 - 1/1000 sec - F5

HI folks,
I'm sharing my latest southern DSO target, and one of my favourite ones: the Tarantula Nebula (NGC 2070). Located at Doradus constellation at only 161,000 light-years away from Earth in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) galaxy, the Tarantula Nebula is the largest and brightest star-forming region in the Local Group, the galaxies nearest our Milky Way. A huge region of ionized gas surrounding a collection of newly-forming stars.
Ands yeah, it's not about gradients or stray light as you might initially think. NGC 2070 is one of those few DSO objects where we can find "green" in space!
Equipment:
-Skywatcher EQ6R-Pro
-Celestron RASA 8 f2
-ZWO ASI 294MCpro
-ZWO ASIAIR Plus
-IDAS NBZ UHS filter
-Pixinsight / Photoshop ( Astroflat / Noise Xterminator) / Adobe Lightroom Mobile
-Expo time: 20 min (10x120s frames + calibration frames)

This photo was taken few minutes after the peak of the partial solar Eclipse in Cairo, the Great pyramid of Giza with the Camel
The duration of the clipse in Cairo was 2 hours , but the weather conditions were so extreme, it was 30 minutes only without heavy cloud cover .
For 3 months , I was planning for this image, I bought the need lenses and filter and made 3 visits to the great pyramid to select best scene

I have just returned from my second photo tour of the year in the Atacama Desert.
This image made in Piedras Rojas represents very well everything that Atacama means to me. Breathtaking landscapes and the best sky in the world for astrophotography.
Highlighted in the sky we have the Magellanic Clouds, the southern arm of the Milky Way and some of its main nebulae, the Andromeda galaxy, Zodiacal Light, an intense Air Glow, among others.
This is a panoramic shot made from 24 shots, 12 per line, with 15 seconds of exposure each. The quality you can get from single shots at Atacama is surreal.

The Monjes de La Pacaña are huge monoliths found in the Salar de Tara region of the Atacama Desert in Chile.
With varied formats and appearing completely out of nowhere in the middle of the desert, these monoliths stand out in the landscape and give an extraterrestrial air to the region's scenery.
Shooting at night at the Monjes de La Pacaña is a challenging and very fun task. Challenging because of the altitude above 4000 meters and the intense cold, which can easily reach -10 degrees Celsius even outside winter.
