Voyager I and II; the little engines that could!
Wow; took 42 years to travel 2/3 of a light day! So; who would want to travel to the nearest exoplanet at 4 light years away?
How are these little space probes going to fare in interstellar space with all the extra radiation?

<<2I/Borisov, originally designated C/2019 Q4 (Borisov) is the first observed interstellar comet and the second observed interstellar interloper after ʻOumuamua.
As seen from Earth, the comet is in the northern sky from September until mid-November. It will cross the celestial equator on 13 November 2019 entering the southern sky. On 6 December 2019, the comet will be an equal distance of 2 au from the Sun and Earth. On 8 December 2019, the comet will come to perihelion (closest approach to the Sun) and will be near the edge of the inner asteroid belt. In late December, it will be about 1.9 au from Earth and have a solar elongation of about 80°. Due to its 44° orbital inclination, 2I/Borisov does not make any notable close approaches to the planets.
2I/Borisov entered the Solar System from the direction of Cassiopeia near the border with Perseus. This direction indicates that it originates from the galactic plane, rather than from the galactic halo. In interstellar space, 2I/Borisov takes roughly 9000 years to travel a light-year relative to the Sun. It will leave the Solar System in the direction of Telescopium. 2I/Borisov has passed within 5.7 light-years of the binary star system Kruger 60 (13.18 light-years away, in Cepheus) at a low velocity of 3.4 km/s around a million years ago.
2I/Borisov's trajectory is extremely hyperbolic, having an orbital eccentricity of 3.3 to 3.4. This is much higher than the 300+ known weakly hyperbolic comets, with heliocentric eccentricities just over 1, and even ʻOumuamua with an eccentricity of 1.2. 2I/Borisov also has a hyperbolic excess velocity (v∞) of 32 km/s, much higher than what could be explained by perturbations, which could produce velocities when approaching an infinite distance from the Sun of less than a few km/s. These two parameters are important indicators of 2I/Borisov's interstellar origin. For comparison, the Voyager 1 spacecraft, which is leaving the Solar System, is traveling at 16.9 km/s.>>

NASA achieves to establish communication
with Voyager 2, again.
The communication with Voyager 2
was interrupted for 7 months

Voyager 2 never ceases to amaze
According to APOD of 29/nov/2020 (Starship Asterisk),
the Voyager 2 spacecraft took an image in 1986 of the tallest known cliff
In the Solar System, called Verona Rupes, located on the moon
Miranda of Uranus.
This cliff has 20 km deep

In 1986, Voyager 2 visited the planet Uranus.
It were discovered 2 new rings, 11 new moons
and they measured temperatures below
- 214 degrees Celsius.
By studying Voyager 2 data, scientists detect
that Uranus could be losing part of its atmosphere
through plasmoids, magnetic bubbles located at
the tail of the magnetic field.

Scientists, studying the physical conditions of
The limit between the heliosphere and the
Heliopause, based on data from Voyager 2,
Formulate a new hypothesis:
It seems that the heliosphere does not has
A tail, similar to a comet, rather it is spherical.

Each year, the energy production required for the probes drops by 4 watts. By 2025, it will fall to a critical level and will no longer be enough to communicate with the Earth. Then the scientists will turn off the devices on the Voyagers, but before that the specialists will establish a communication session with them in order to receive the last data stream.

According to the data send by Voyager 1,
It have been detected in interstellar space,
Stable plasma emissions (far from the
Influence of the Sun )
The scientists wonder if that plasma
( ionized gas) belongs to the Sun or another
Source.

It seems that the technicians responsible for
Voyager 1 have already corrected the failure of
the probe-
Some time ago Voyager 1 began to send to Earth
various data not compatible with reality.
The problem: the ship was processing data
on a computer out of use.

In noviembre 2023, the Voyager 1 probe
stopped sending. scientific data to Earth.
It only sent repetitive numbers that saind nothing.
Now, NASA, has successfully updated the respective
software the probe has returned to sending scientific
data.
The important thing is that Voyager 1 is already fine

Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, launched by NASA in 1977, were designed to explore the outer planets. Voyager 1, launched on September 5, 1977, is now over 14 billion miles from Earth in interstellar space, making it the farthest human-made object. It entered interstellar space in August 2012 and continues to send back data, though some systems have been shut down due to power limitations.
Voyager 2, launched on August 20, 1977, is over 12 billion miles from Earth and entered interstellar space in November 2018. It also continues to transmit data about its environment. Both spacecraft are powered by radioisotope thermoelectric generators, and NASA manages their power to keep essential instruments operational. Communication with NASA is still ongoing, but data rates are slow due to the vast distances. Both Voyagers carry a "Golden Record" with sounds and images of Earth to convey our civilization to any potential extraterrestrial finders.

I want to add that Voyager 2, while slightly closer to us than Voyager 1, also continues its journey and provides crucial information about interstellar space. These spacecraft are not only scientific marvels but also cultural ambassadors, with the "Golden Records" on board carrying greetings from Earth to any potential extraterrestrial civilizations. It's inspiring to think about how far human ingenuity has reached !!
