Let this image of mine be my statement against the overprocessed, oversaturated, oversharpened, basically *kitsch* tendency that's getting more and more prevalent, lately, being promoted by apod too. And a reminder, that before social media, astronomy used to be a bit more important: https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap020830.html

Do you think you could post a link to the full resolution version of this image that we can look at without having to use an unknown password?

MOON COLOR 73%
FUN OF THE COLORED MOON: An image of great scientific importance.
The Moon is usually seen in subtle shades of gray or yellow
The different colors are recognized to correspond to real differences in the chemical composition of the lunar surface.
The blue tones reveal areas rich in ilmenite, which contains iron, titanium and oxygen, mainly titanium, while the orange and purple colors show relatively poor titanium and iron regions.
Trips to the moon were already indicated by similar images.
It is not a mosaic

This image was the sum of two images:

Friday morning at 9:28UTC, the resupply cargo Cygnus NG-11 (Northrop-Grumman / Thales Alenia Space) docked to the Canadarm2 articulated arm, while the ISS was flying over northern France at 28000 km/h. It is at this precise moment that I took a photo of their transit in front of the Sun: the small cargo is visible just near the ISS. The transit lasted 0,8 s and the ISS was 600 km away.
