This was the view from the north of Scotland. The partial eclipse here was less than 2%. It was very cloudy over the UK and I may have been the only person in Scotland to witness this event!

Hello, here my rendition of the August 21,2017 eclipse which I had the pleasure of experiencing. It is a composite image from ten sub exposures of various length showing details from prominences down to earthshine. Though I tried to use my visual experience as a guide, obviously the dynamic range is otherworldly. Enjoy..

4 Globular clusters in one frame (at least...)

47 Tucanae is the second brightest globular cluster following Omega Centauri.
The large globular 47 Tucanae (NGC 104, Caldwell 106) seen in this 1.5 X 1.5 Degrees frame outshines the 3 smaller clusters neighburing it.
All 4 clusters are companions of the Small Magellanic cloud.
NGC 121 is the small cluster at 2 O'clock of the cluster.
At 9 O'clock is the small cluster SMC L8 and above it the smaller cluster SMC L11.

There are several small galaxies hidden among the stars - the largest one PGC 1536 can be seen half way Between 47 TUC and NGC 121

1.6 million light years from the Milky Way, the Irregular Dwarf galaxy NGC6822 is part of the local group of galaxies.
Some 7000 light years across and complete with prominent HII and OIII rich regions, highlighted here, it has a remarkable resemblance to the much closer large Magellanic cloud
