"Milky way in Carpathians mountains"
The picture was taken at the top of the Gendarme Mountain (1765m). On the right is one of the mountains in Ukraine: Mount Bliznitsa (1883m). To the left extend the lights of the villages at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level. In the sky the Milky Way visible from the constellation of Sagittarius to the constellation Perseus. In the picture it is good to see a fairly bright glow of the atmosphere in green and purple color. The Andromeda galaxy, the constellation Cassiopeia, the North America nebula, Saturn and dust clouds of the central part of the Milky Way are also very clearly visible.

Race trails during a special night
I'm french and I hope that you will excuse my poor English.
In France, each year during summer, we have a special night for astronomers : Les Nuits des Etoiles (approx : Stars Nights). Created in 1991 by the AFA (Association Française d'Astronomie / French Astronomy Society), this national event permit to numerous people (about 100.000 in 2016) a look at the stary sky with astronomy societies all over the country. This year, it is from friday 28 to sunday 30/07, with about 480 events in about 270 sites.
In my little village of Périgord (South-west of France), my new astronomy society Astro24M (created in last september) organized a public star party last night and we have the ISS two times : first during the twilight (22h12 local time) and second at night (23h50). I joined the two trails (and an unwanted plane trail) in this image : The first ISS trail : (because of the twilight sky, short 3s exposure with a 10s interval)
The second ISS trail : And finally a compilation of all the night (about 1h1/2) : More images in our forum (French only) : http://astro24m.forumactif.org/t173-nui ... -et-photos

In line
The photo is made in Astro Ayna, an astrophoto event in the interior of Spain and that at this time Spain is full of events of this type.
We gathered more than 30 telescopes

"Flightpath"
I was testing out my new (to me) Canon 500mm F4 IS L lens adjusting the framing and getting the settings just right when I noticed something moving at the top of the frame. I don't know how I was lucky enough to hit the shutter when I did but the end result was awesome! Sometimes the most unexpected and unplanned shots are the best.

The planetary nebula itself is certainly very interesting! Not many planetaries are as perfectly round as this one.
