See the famous colorized version by Roberta Weir, posted at http://www.garciaweirgallery.com/roberta-weir.html

Well, slightly tacky to invoke rock clichés, but "Break On Through To The Other Side".

For the color the universe apod, the title is Deus est novum saeculum
Re: APOD: Color the Universe (2016 Jul 19)
It is the whole point of a science page, validating God's perfect creation. Beautiful coloring work by the way.

I've seen it called Medieval Astonomy or Medieval Astronomer. I like to call it The Cheeky Astronomer - daring to try to discover the secrets of God's universe. By the way there are coloured examples on the Internet, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmos.

Behind The Veil....
I've had this poster hanging on my walls for more than 35 of my 56 years. It's always been my favorite, truly peering behind the veil of space & time...
I think it was originally created as a wood block press, and I always assumed the artist was from around the 16th or 17th Century because of the style. Love it!

In the Book 'L'atmosphère: Météorologie Populaire', the image has an explanation:
Un missionnaire du moyen age raconte qu'il avait trouve le point ou le ciel et
la Terre se touchent...
Which is French For:
'A missionary of the Middle Ages tells that he had found the point where heaven
& earth touch ...'
The obvious title: "The Point Where Heaven & Earth Touch"

FINDING universal circles of color beyond the veil...

"beyond the horizon"
Re: APOD: Color the Universe (2016 Jul 19)
I agree with paulandmolly. The picture shows Copernicus glimpsing the true nature of the cosmos.

I just cannot decided whether to color it in true or false colors . Should I use the Hubble Palette or what? .
