This is a Blood Moon Eclipse timelapse video. I believe there is no other timelapse like this one on the net, and since we have a lunar eclipse coming soon I thought it might be ideal for this month.

I love that image! To me it looks fantastic, like a strange eye in space. The colors are saturated, and some people may not like that, but I love it. I think it is an amazing portrait of a core starburst galaxy, where the starburst region is sitting inside a large cocoon of old stars. I also love the dramatic dust lanes apparently streaming out of the starburst center. They make me wonder if this galaxy is a little brother or sister of M82, and if the dust lanes emanating from the core of the galaxy also contain ionized hydrogen gas.

But unlike M82, which must be one of the most-photographed galaxies by Earthly astrophotographers, NGC 3077 so rarely gets its portrait taken. Thank you so much for photographing it for us!

I concur with you Ann and also agree it is a very undervalued galaxy!

You are right that it contains an ionized outflow, which would easily be visible with a Ha filter.

Comets 252P LINEAR on March 2nd, P/2016 BA14 on March 1st. Two comets – comet 252P/LINEAR 12 (Left) and Comet P/2016 BA14 (PANSTARRS) (Right) will make record-breaking Earth flybys with the passage of PANSTARRS being the closest known comet flyby of the last 230 yrs.

I think to see the chicken requires an image with a wider field of view that shows the outer extensions. All I can see is an emission nebula with a star cluster, bright rimmed globules and Bok globules?

That's an even nicer image and includes the bonus planetary nebula* Hen 2-72! Maybe the running chicken is only visible with visual observations?

*I really like planetary nebulae!!!
