Margaret Bridge Startrails
copyright: György Soponyai
This cut all-sky photo was taken at Tuesday dawn. Standing at the southern cape of Margaret Island, the grounding of central pillar of Margaret Bridge was an ideal location for photographing cool startrail pictures. In "one hour direction" the building of Hungarian Parliament is visible.

Orion's belt and Sword
Image Credit: Jonathan Green (https://goo.gl/8tUz5c) and Amit Ashok Kamble (https://goo.gl/pbtWvG) / Auckland Astronomical Society (https://goo.gl/Z16tQU)
Orion's belt and Sword - The data that makes up this image was captured at the recent Astrophotography camp held in Foxton by the Horowhenua Astronomical Society, the image shows the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex, the Orion complex is a large group of bright nebulae, dark clouds, and young stars in the Orion constellation. The cloud is between 1 500 and 1 600 light-years away, and hundreds of light-years across. Several parts of the nebula can be observed through binoculars and small telescopes, and some parts (such as the Orion Nebula) are visible to the naked eye.
The nebula is important because of its sheer size, as it spreads several degrees from Orion's Belt to his sword. It is also one of the most active regions of stellar formation visible in the night sky, and is home to both protoplanetary discs and very young stars. The complex also contains dark nebulae (such as the Horsehead Nebula), emission nebulae, reflection nebulae, and H II regions.
This image is the result of a collaboration between Astrophotographers Jonathan Green and Amit Kamble, Jonathan captured the image data and Amit processed the image in PixInsight, the image is made up from 101 x 1 minute exposures captured with a Canon 60da at ISO1250 through a Canon 200 mm lens set at f/2.8, 21 dark frames were subtracted for calibration and the stars were tracked using a iOptron sky Guider mount. Star Trails and Aurora over Mount Rainier

This image contains my first aurora experience with star trails over Mount Rainier. If you look closely there is a bright white trail of lights on the right side of the summit. This is a group of climbers attempting to summit Rainier. A week before this image was taken we unfortunately lost a young climber due to a high wind storm mixed with a blinding white-out. The climber was 23 years old. For me the image has a lot of emotion as it was the first time I was able to witness an aurora, and I would like to think that was the young climber watching out for his fellow mountaineers making their way towards the summit.

Lights on the Virgin Island
Copyright: Sabine Gloaguen
Here is a picture taken in Brittany (France).
The sky was very clear and it was a pleasure to observe the Milky Way. If you look attentively, you could find the Andromeda galaxy and also some airglow on the right side.
I was lucky enough to observe for the first time the bio-luminescent plankton activated by the waves movement.
And finally the fire lit by unconscious people in this protected area creates a dramatic effect...

I took this with a non modified dslr over the course of two nights. I was astounded to see how much detail was visible, even with basic gear.
