Lunar eclipse, just leaving totality as the Moon sets from Colorado, with the sky already getting quite light 40 minutes before official sunrise.

Hello,
Here a dive in the very, very deep sky.
The picture is mine, made in 2014
Luminance 42 x 300s bin 2 with a Atik 383, RCGSO8 at 1620mm and a AZEQ6 mobile.
Annotations are made with Pixinsight and Photoshop.
Magnitude and the redshift for the brightest. Quasar is 11billions YL from my garden.
I hope you will enjoy it.

Holding Back the Dawn
By Richard S. Wright Jr.
http://www.eveningshow.com

Stars and the Milky Way are straining to be seen or photographed against the slowly brightening sky of early morning twilight. Shot near a state park in Okeechobee Florida, true dawn was to the left as you are looking south in this image at the heart of the Milky Way. This 25 second exposure with a wide angle lens shows the strong orange glow from light pollution from the city of Okeechobee several miles away causing a false dawn to the south.

M83 The Southern Pinwheel

Post by strongmanmike » Mon Apr 06, 2015 1:55 am

M83 is one of the skies finest face on spirals and is a favourite autumn object for southern hemisphere viewers.
The two adjacent and likely very similar sized but much more distant spiral galaxies provide a sobering sense of scale.

Full Moon rising behind Lick Observatory in San Jose, Ca, taken on Friday, April 3, 2015. There is a small plane in front of the moon, probably just took off from Reid Hillview Airport nearby.
