DAY 689: Another Curosity Find
DAY 689: Another Curosity Find
This image from day 689 shows an interesting rock in the upper left quad that appears to be hollow and cracked open (like an egg) with what appears to be the top of the egg just above right of the rock in the center. There is another contextually interesting rock just below right of the center rock that is extremely bumpy and lumpy compared to the surrounding rocks

Day 810 for Curosity and the MastCam recorded another interesting image.
High Resolution
Although I don't see evidence of rover tracks over this area, it appears that the surface has caved in slightly under pressure with slight lifting on the outer rim and possible evidence of sand fall through the fractures

Re: DAY 689: Another Curosity Find
I'm almost certain the rover must have rolled over this area, though it didn't leave much of a track. There's just too much evidence of fresh breaks and chips and cracks for it to be anything else. The rover doesn't leave clear tracks in some kinds of sand, because the sand collapses back too easily. That, combined with a mostly rocky surface, hides the actual track pretty well -- or so it appears to me.
