The Great Andromeda Galaxy

I captured this image of M31 on a night of exceptional seeing and transparency in South Florida. Only a little over an hour of total exposure went into this image. Shot with a QHY10 color camera on an 80mm APO refractor and a Paramount MyT.

I also agree with you, IC 1613 is one of my favourite dwarf irregular galaxies! I would love to see an image taken with Ha and OIII to emphasise its interesting nebulae.

You wouldn't think it was taken from a backyard! Next year, mosaic of the whole galaxy with the same exposure for each frame!

This is a shot of Andromeda (M31) with particular focus on one of the prominent dust lanes.
In order to simulate the view from outside the Milky Way, the intervening stars have been digitally removed, leaving a striking, uncluttered view of the intricate, wispy patterns in the dust lane.

The north face of IC1396 is less popular than the Elephant's Trunk, but it too contains a number of interesting structures, including the dark nebular outline of a mysterious lady of the deep. Narrowband HST palette.

Hunsecker’s Mill Bridge is a covered bridge that holds the record for the longest single span in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The wooden bridge was originally built in 1848 and rebuilt in 1973 following hurricane damage. Using Stellarium and some good ole’ fashion trigonometry, the optimal time to photograph the rising full moon through the historic bridge was determined. If you look closely, you can see the familiar “V” pattern of Hyades as well as the Pleiades cluster near the top of the star field.
