Submissions: 2014 October

The Magic Weekend,

This weekend I have spent two days in my observatori.

This picture is made in the Observatories of the Association in Montsec, that are located in the Pyrenean foothills, in the town of Ager (Lleida), in innovative facilities that benefit from the excellent conditions of the night sky, in a protected area for astronomical use. The facilities are exclusively for members and fields observations them as a regular activity performed, among others.

The magnitude measured with the SQM have been during the two night 21.40 mag/arcseconds.

This is a mosaic composite of 10 pictures at 25 seconds ISO 6400, with the camera SONY A7S and lense Zeiss Distagon 15 f/2,8.

Eclipsed Moon over the Australia Telescope Compact Array and the Milky Way

The total lunar eclipse of 8 Oct 2014 at the Australia Telescope Compact Array in Narrabri West, New South Wales, Australia. Usually during full moon, the Milky Way will be drown in the bright moonlight. However, during a total lunar eclipse, the moonlight was greatly dimmed as it moved into Earth's shadow and the stars showed themselves, and this is the only time the full moon can pose with the Milky Way.

NGC 7023 Iris Nebula . a 15 hour total exposure ,LRGB of this reflection nebula . Had a few good nights here in Norfolk UK recently. This was done from my garden obs over October
