That's an impressive ISS sequence! I like your Saturn, too. Do you have the date and time for the Saturn image?

Searching extrasolar planets with APACHE
http://iltempodellastronomia.wordpress.com/
Copyright: Giovanna Ranotto
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Q ... directlink Technical details: Camera Canon EOS 400D Digital, 800 ISO, time of exposure 30 s, aperture f/4
These telescopes help the astronomers of the Astronomical Observatory of the Autonomous Region Valle d'Aosta, North-Western Italy, to search extrasolar planets around red dwarf stars. They belong to the research project APACHE, which is an acronym meaning “A PAthway toward the Characterization of Habitable Earths”. This project has been carried out since 2012, and it is made of five Ritchèy-Chretien telescopes with a diameter of 40 cm, f/8, each one mounted on a German equatorial mount. The main aim of APACHE is to find planets in the habitability zone of the studied red dwarfs. In the sky between the telescopes on the left it is possible to see the Milky Way and the constellation of Sagittarius.

IC1805, the "Heart" of the galaxy.
Called as IC1805, this is emission nebula, where the predominant H II is ionized by a star cluster located in the center and have masses of about 50 times that of our sun is located in the constellation Cassiopeia about 7,500 light years away.
This photo also performed narrow-band filters using only the transmission of hidógeno and oxygen to combine LRGB (luminance, red, green and blue) in the sequence of Ha-Ha-OIII-OIII, for a photo very similar to that resulting from broadband in RGB.
I was used Epsilon 180ED telescope, camera and filters QSI540 of 3nm Astrodon. The total exposure was 4 hours.

Artwork of the supercluster, Laniakea (yellow), which includes our own Milky Way. Scientists at the University of Hawaii have examined the velocities of galaxies in unprecedented detail, showing in the process that Laniakea is much bigger than originally thought. It weighs in at 100 million billion solar masses and spans over 500 million light-years of extragalactic space. Each dot in this image is a galaxy - 100,000 in all - each containing in turn millions to trillions of stars. The contour lines are velocity flows: the indicate the direction that galaxies are moving through the supercluster under the combined gravity of all of that matter. The red dot shows the location of the Milky Way, our own galaxy, on the edge of the supercluster.

In this scene from Algonquin Park in North-central Ontario Canada, an annual star party organized by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada called the Algonquin Adventure is taking place. http://rascto.ca/content/2014-annual-al ... -adventure
The approximately 200 degree panorama displays the horizon from the south through to the north-east. The milky way stands tall above misty Mew Lake where campers have come to enjoy the wilderness while the weather still permits. The Northern Lights glow on the horizon, reflecting on the quiet lake. And on the beach with their red-light flashlights (to preserve their night vision) amateur astronomers use their telescopes, their cameras, or simply naked eye to gaze at the heavens. A perfect night for an end-of-summer star party.

Goddess By Nature

Venus, the second planet of the Solar System, but for the Romans was the Goddess of love, beauty, sex, fertility and prosperity...
Venus on seashell, from the Casa di Venus, Pompeii. Before 79 AD, beauty painting worth to look for it around the web.
This was how I started this year, shooting at Venus at one of the most beautiful places at El Salvador, Simple and beautiful.
