Serendipity
While is was shooting at the milky way, my tripod was not completely safe, my camera moved during the exposure, capturing this lovely star trail.

Stellar Traces above the Dolines complex of Pantokrator, Corfu
Over the crest of the mountain Pantokrator, with an area of 16 sq. km there is a sinkhole cluster which is one of the most intensely clusters of sinkhole in Europe. The complex potential created during the Ice Ages, since the emergence of the mountain from the Ocean of Tethys 18-12 million years ago. There are carbonate formations, ungroomed limestone and dolomitic limestones of Lutetian age of upper Eocene.
text: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinkhole
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karst_topography
A sinkhole, also known as a sink-hole, sink, swallow hole, shakehole, swallet or doline, is a depression or hole in the ground caused by some form of collapse of the surface layer. Some are caused by karst processes. Sinkholes may be formed gradually or suddenly, and are found worldwide.
Natural processes
Sinkholes may capture surface drainage from running or standing water, but may also form in high and dry places in specific locations. The formation of sinkholes involves natural processes of erosion or gradual removal of slightly soluble bedrock (such as limestone) by percolating water, the collapse of a cave roof, or a lowering of the water table. Sinkholes often form through the process of suffosion. Thus, for example, groundwater may dissolve the carbonate cement holding the sandstone particles together and then carry away the lax particles, gradually forming a void. Occasionally a sinkhole may exhibit a visible opening into a cave below.
Sinkholes are common where the rock below the land surface is limestone or other carbonate rock, salt beds, or in other rocks, such as gypsum, that can be dissolved naturally by circulating ground water. Sinkholes also occur in sandstone and quartzite terrains. As the rock dissolves, spaces and caverns develop underground. These sinkholes can be dramatic, because the surface land usually stays intact until there is not enough support. Then, a sudden collapse of the land surface can occur.

Horse head nebula (infrared+Ha+RGB)
Hi all,
The image below in the result of combining the incredible Hubble infrared capture (http://heritage.stsci.edu/2013/12/index.html) with a color image obtained at the Astronomical Observatory of Bosque Alegre in Córdoba, Argentina, which was shown herein some time ago (http://asterisk.apod.com/viewtopic.php? ... no#p200290), and resulted from a combination of RGB and Ha emission.
The infrared image was (partially) applied as luminance of the RGB+Ha combination for further creating the final image shown here.
Surprisingly, this peculiar combination resembles very well the typical appearance of a horse head profile, as a well defined eye is now evident together with pronounced bangs (forelock), not so evident in the individual images.
Some friends believe that Barnard 33 resembles a cobra snake rather than a horse head. I think the current image leaves no doubt!
Thanks and regards,
Aldo

Image processing: Aldo Mottino.
Special thanks to my friend Omar Mangini for his valuable suggestions on the very final processing!

Trying to get some Milky Way light, but it was hard to get some because of artificial light pollution.
