Messier 13, The Great Globular Cluster in Hercules
My favorite object in the eyepiece, and it makes for a nice astrophotograph too I think. This is only 1.5 hours of data on a CCD with an f/3 RH-200 telescope. 3 minute subs, 10 per color channel. It shows what can be done from light polluted skies (much less a gibbous moon) with proper calibration... and a suitably bright target.

Re: Submissions: 2014 May
This wide field panorama, comprising of 25 images stitched together, was captured the 3rd of January 2014 at Goatshead Bluff, South Arm, in south eastern Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
It features a mild showing of the Aurora Borealis.
Despite being the peak of summer in Australia, southern Tasmania nights can get very low temperatures for Australia. I struggled to keep warm this night for the 6 hours that I sat on the craggy rocky outcrop hoping for a big spike in Aurora activity.
Captured with Canon 7D, Tokina 11mm-16mm Zoom at 11mm, f3.2, ISO 3200 and with a 31 seconds exposure.

Title: Meteor-shower's radiant near Polaris
This is my first time I have got an experience with a Meteor shower. I couldn´t see too much meteor due to the maximum in Lleida-Spain raining it was at 9 am, so I had no chance to capture this event due to the light. But during the early hours of Saturday, I was able to take this circumpolar from 4:00 am to 5:00 am, that we can see two meteor near the Polaris. What a pitty not to catch more than two, but enough to be the first contact.
Details photo:
Place: Coll d'Ares, altitude 1500 meters (Lleida-Spain)
Temperature: 5ºC
Mount: Tripod
Camera: Sony a7r
Lense: Zeiss Distagon 15 f/2.8
Exposures: 79x30 seconds at ISO 3200

By the way I also takook my first Panoramic astrophoto in the same night. This is a composition of 6 vertical photos with 13 seconds exposures and ISO 3200, the assemble is made with Ligthroom.
I hope so you like as well.

IC 1396 large Emissions Nebula
The region of IC 1396 is actually quite large with its spattering of star formation and imbedded clusters of stars we sometimes miss the big picture.
This wide field DSLR capture shows its intensity yet only reveals part of its majestic glory.

Re: Submissions: 2014 May
Mosaic taken remotely with the fsq106 and sbig stl11000 one shot color ccd camera at the siding spring observatory in New South Wales, Australia. This image was taken over 3 consecutive days and consists of 4 panels. Each panel was made of 5 images of 15 minutes. So total effective exposure is 1.25 hours and 6 hours all together.
The image shows the region of m20 (trifid nebula) and m8 (lagoon nebula) near the milky way center.
Thanks to the Tzec Maun foundation and Ron Wodaski for the support and opportunity to image on this system.
The full image is 20 megapixel and near 25mb. It can be found via the Flickr page.
