NGC 3718 and others
Copyright: Mark Hanson
Here is a deep image of NGC 3718 this was one of the best 2 nights of seeing that I can remember. I took all the luminance data on those nights.
Aladin Sky Atlas cataloged over 5000 gal down to under 24th magnitude.
you can see a larger image here: http://www.btlguce.com/page83.html
Thank you,
Mark

Wow-wow-wow, what an image, Mark!
I've never seen the outer arms of NGC 3718 captured in such detail! And, in the larger version of your image, look at that starforming ring of NGC 3729, too.
Wonderful!!!
Ann

Can Your Find Mars? (Hint: It is at Opposition) by Radical Retinoscopy, on Flickr
Ninety-four 30 second exposures were taken with a Canon T2i and a Canon 8-15L mm lens and stacked in StarStaX (8mm / 400 ISO / f/4.5). It was a beautiful sight to see Mars, Jupiter and the moon in a Pennsylvania farm field on this cool spring evening.

By using my homemade spectroheliograph
I can capture any solar spectral lines I like and combine thousands of lines into one 2D solar disk image.
Here are some recent results:
H-alpha
H-beta
H-gamma
Mg
Ca-H
Na
