APOD support/API for smartphone app?

I want to develop a new APOD app for android smartphone.
Is there any APOD's support/API for smartphone app development?
If any, please help me where can I find the support/API.

I could find some APOD apps at Google's android app market,
but they were not suitable for my purpose. Recently I'd studied
on making android app, so I decided make a new APOD app.

Please know that APOD text and many of the images it shows are copyrighted; copyrighted images cannot be shown with advertising without the permission of their copyright holders. (APOD cannot grant permission for images copyrighted by others.) Also, the APOD text is copyrighted; please check with one of the APOD editors for use of the text. (They are generous about it, and I'll alert one of them to your post.)

Thanks for your advice.
Now I can notice that previous APOD android apps are having no advertisement.

If my APOD app have no commercial advertisement, then the copyright problems
can be solved? Or should I contact with a manager of APOD for the copyright problem?

(Of course, I'd never thought APOD for commercial use)
