Phil Plait featured this last year and called it a space jellyfish but I think it looks like a big, fluffy, calico cat paw smacking the surface of some water.

This is one of my favourite obscure planetary nebulae in Cassiopeia. Interestingly, I also posted this image last year. Great minds think alike!geckzilla wrote:Phil Plait featured this last year and called it a space jellyfish but I think it looks like a big, fluffy, calico cat paw smacking the surface of some water.

Re: Found Images: 2014 February
I saw that, but it was a little bit differently processed and not quite as striking. Or maybe it's a deeper image? Not sure, so I decided to re-post.starsurfer wrote:This is one of my favourite obscure planetary nebulae in Cassiopeia. Interestingly, I also posted this image last year. Great minds think alike!

The image you have posted is exactly identical to the one I posted, no changes in processing.geckzilla wrote:I saw that, but it was a little bit differently processed and not quite as striking. Oh I thought you meant the NOAO image. You're right, I did post those images but I did also post the NOAO one as well.geckzilla wrote:Eh, the only one I saw was this along with the other one later in the thread.starsurfer wrote:The image you have posted is exactly identical to the one I posted, no changes in processing.

Re: Found Images: 2014 February
I tried searching for it even after you mentioned this and I still can't seem to find it. Maybe it's lacking the keyword HFG1 or maybe Google search is just failing me...starsurfer wrote:Oh I thought you meant the NOAO image. There is a possibility that I have never posted the NOAO image for some reason?!geckzilla wrote:I tried searching for it even after you mentioned this and I still can't seem to find it.
