Trifid Nebula, M20

Amateur challenge:
Well, for sure this is not the best Trifid nebula picture ever seen. But have a look to the equipment specifications: It have been done using a rather modest telescope, camera and mount, the kind of equipment almost any amateur can get for a very few bucks.
- Telescope was a GSO reflector, 200mm diameter. Very fast f/4 and one of the best valued in the low price band, but heavy and not the best optics/mechanics you can get in the market.
- Camera was a second hand Canon 350D, home-modified to take IR filter off. This have been the first serious astrophoto camera for many of us, a good base to learn but plenty of hot pixels during northern summer.
- Mount was a Vixen GP, maybe one of the best in his class, but surely a little small for such amount of weight.
- Guidescope was purchased in eBay for less than 30$. After some glue, screwing and adaptations, the focuser only play and wobble by 0.5mm to each direction...
Now see it again and think on the efforts of getting such image with so limited equipment, and let me explain the enjoyment and pride I feel sharing it now with all of you.
Trifid Nebula:
The Trifid Nebula (also known as Messier 20 and NGC6514) is an H II region with a remarkable collection of open cluster, emission nebula (the lower, red portion), reflection nebula (the upper, blue portion) and dark nebula (the septation within the emission nebula causing the trifid appearance, also designated Barnard 85).
